Celebrating Community Regeneration at the 2025 SURF Awards

The outcomes of the prestigious 2025 SURF Awards for Best Practice in Community Regeneration were announced on 4 December, 2025, at a packed celebration in Glasgow’s Voco Grand Central Hotel. Over 280 guests joined SURF for the 27th annual event, recognising the inspiring work of this year’s five category winners. Each initiative was personally congratulated by the Deputy First Minister, Kate Forbes.

Delivered in partnership with the Scottish Government for over 22 years, the SURF Awards highlight and share the achievements of projects tackling physical, social and economic challenges in communities across Scotland. This year’s winners span Dumfries to South Lanarkshire and beyond, showcasing creative placemaking, employability support, community-led regeneration, and transformative approaches to local assets.

A huge well done to all the initiatives recognised this year. Our Chief Officer, Kimberley Guthrie, was delighted to attend the event alongside several STP Board members, celebrating the individuals and organisations driving positive change across Scotland.

Scotland’s Towns Partnership was proud to sponsor the Most Improved Place category and extends warm congratulations to this year’s winner: Ardrossan South Beach Community Space. Led by Ardrossan Community Development Trust, the project is a standout example of community vision transforming local spaces for residents and visitors alike.

The dedication, innovation and collaboration shown across all shortlisted projects speaks to the strength and resilience of Scotland’s towns. Thank you to SURF for hosting another fantastic event – and congratulations to all of this year’s winners!
