Continue the Conversation in Holyrood: Safe, Secure and Open for Business: Attracting Investment into Our Towns

Join the Cross Party Group on Towns and Town Centres for a focused discussion on how Scotland’s towns can attract investment by creating places that feel safe, secure, and open for business.

Building on insights from Scotland’s Towns Partnership’s learning session (2 December), this meeting will explore how design, partnership, and placemaking can transform perceptions, foster community pride, and drive local economic confidence.

Whether you attended the first event or are joining the conversation for the first time, this is your opportunity to engage directly with practitioners and policymakers shaping the future of our towns.

Joining us to discuss the themes of safety, confidence, and investment are Danielle McRorie Smith, National Programme Manager, Scotland’s Improvement Districts and Director, GoForth Stirling – on how Business Improvement Districts tackle anti-social behaviour through design, partnership and management, improving perceptions and boosting investment. And Bob Keiller, the voice of Our Union Street – on civic engagement and community-led regeneration driving pride, positivity and investment back into Aberdeen’s city centre.
